Nearing the Half Way Mark of Module Three

This past week has been filled with so many valuable meetings plus plenty of reading and writing.

Through the role of being a student voice leader, which I feel privileged to be involved with, and how it has led to a wealth of connection to the MAPP community that I am very grateful for. This week we will be attending the PVG meeting for this term which will be another new learning experience  derived from this MA course.

This week, I have begun to draft my critical review and by doing this I feel that it’s helping me to understand how the data I have collected entwines into the literature and connects to the key artists recognized within my research area. This is also helping with the analysis process and ultimately revealing how it will eventually extend into my practice.

The process is still a little scary however, ensuring that I am approaching the review with an academic mindset, I feel that through revising the context of module two, I am certainly understanding how to approach module three with more clarity, well I hope I am?

I know my next big task will be putting all the information into my artefact but that is definitely something I am still pondering on.  One step at a time,  as I know I need to put things in an organized manner to ensure that everything makes some sort of sense to myself and the readers I will be addressing.

I came across this video when I was searching up something on tap and I wondered why? It’s not until the interview, towards the end of the video, with Agnes de Mille when she talks a snippet about tap and the reason why it was included in the ballet.  What was so engaging though, was hearing how she knew the exact direction of how she wanted to portray the context of the ballet in relation to its conceptualization.  I hope I can get to that point with my artefact!

I am finding this part of the MA course exciting, and I hope that I can pull it all together to create an interesting inquiry , to show significance in my exploration and can entice interest in the topic of the research when it is presented.

I hope that studies are going well for everyone at the moment.  When things get a little tough, I try to remember that this research is about us and for us, it’s a privilege, so try and embrace it all!
